PRESENT: Cllr Keith Innocent, Cllr Val Whitbread, Neil Ferres, Stuart Moore, Dean Burdall, John Tritschler, John Whitbread. David Thompson Boston Spa Parish Council 1. Present and Introductions Apologies from John Lynch, Martin Batt &Nick Lane Fox. Keith welcomed new members John Tritschler and Stuart Moore. 2. Matters Arising Keith is still to contact the university. Keith is joining the Clifford group on transport. No response has been received from Sam Smiths brewery regarding the Headley development proposal. Tadcaster Town Council has shown little interest.
3. David Thompson: – information on Boston Spa’s Neighbourhood Plan Covered the following sections: Traffic & Transport Held drop-in sessions in different locations in the village – asked simple questions: What do you like about Boston Spa? / What would you like to be different? Then compiled & door-dropped questionnaire for return via named letterboxes / freepost. Got 37% response. 1 questionnaire per household, not per individual. Responses were anonymous. Analysis of responses done by market research couple from Clifford. Then held public consultation, then drafted Neighbourhood Plan. Also did a junior survey via meetings with scouts & guides / facebook / twitter. Recommends to check census for information of Bramham’s age range / places of work. AP – Check census Recommends cpre website / journal of local planning / navigusplanning.co.uk Keith and the group thanked David for his help which had been very valuable. 4. Next steps The group agreed to use the Parish Council event 7/8 February for public engagement. Agreed all to send ideas for our ‘vision’ and Dean, John & Val to meet and come up with a draft for the next meeting. The vision can be used at the Feb event – as a base for gathering residents’ views. Next Meeting Thursday 28 November, 7.30 pm, Senior Citizens Centre. |
